Nudity

Nudity is the state in which a person is not wearing clothes. In The Proposal, implicit nudity (non-explicit nudity) is used in some parts of the romantic comedy to make the movie funnier and more enjoyable to the audience.

MPAA Film Rating

Due to the fact that nudity is used in The Proposal to make the movie funnier, the film is restricted to PG and above. However, through very careful choreography, nothing too explicit is shown in The Proposal. As a result, the film is given an MPAA film rating of PG-13.

However, some viewers, especially parents, are quite unhappy with the PG-13 rating that is given to The Proposal. In their opinion, the amount of nudity that is shown during the shower scene of The Proposal is still too inappropriate for younger audiences, despite all the careful choreography taken to avoid showing anything too explicit.
